Today, ECC has the capacity to produce 9.6 million tons of cement annually.

ECC’s plant at El Ain El Sokhna is entirely self-sufficient with staff accommodation, a restaurant and recreational facilities are provided, emergency services and extensive medical facilities are permanently on standby on-site. An irrigation system, using wastewater from the sewage treatment plant, is responsible for making an already green plant even greener. A central workshop and a quarry workshop, both are fully manned and equipped. The process lines are controlled from the Central Control Room and laboratory complex.

Water is supplied from thirteen wells, through pumping stations, around 28 km to the plant storage tanks. Purification of brackish water is by reverse osmosis units with a total pure water production of approximately 5000 m.cubic/day.

Electrical power comes from the national grid by two incoming and two outgoing 220kv overhead lines. Two 11 kV, 90 MVA main transformers are installed. The primary fuel is natural gas, supplied by the utility company City Gas. The system has a capacity of around 2 million Nm3/day.
